1. Ribs without the bones!
2. Enjoy your ribs without making a mess picking up those saucy bones.
3. It's a real slab of ribs with the bone taken out, not a bunch of meat formed into the shape of a rack of ribs.
This is a day that will live in infamy - the day Kevin the pig got DE-BONED.
I really love the journey that Al 'Bubba' Baker takes us on in this segment. First he introduces his revolutionary product - the de-boned rack of ribs. Then he reveals the two patents - one for the food product (which the Sharks have never seen before) and one for the process. Then, finally, he slays them with the story of how his daughter bullied him into finishing his life's work after he quit.
Ultimately it comes down to a head-to-head between Kevin and Daymond. Kevin promises to make Al richer than he can imagine, and then turns around and says he'll only take 49%. My gut is telling me that Al would be a lot richer without having to give away almost 50% of his company. Daymond makes the same offer, but at 30%. Robert wisely cautions that it's a big sacrifice to make for someone to essentially make a phone call to a pig processor.
Al graciously declines Kevin's offer and goes with Daymond, which is probably a better way to go. Kevin swears up and down that he's worth every penny of that 49%, and maybe he really is, but it's a greedy offer and Daymond made Al's decision pretty easy in the end.
